Principal’s Welcome
It is a privilege to be the principal of Reynella East College, a large, vibrant and exciting Public Education Preschool to Year 12 School located in the south of Adelaide.
At Reynella East College, we provide a unique one-stop seamless education for over 1900 children and young people. Since the amalgamation in 2013, we have developed a whole school culture that offers an array of rich opportunities and experiences and a real sense of belonging. Whilst we continue to develop programs that promote school identity, our students are strongly connected through smaller learning communities.
We aim to provide progressive, challenging and inclusive educational programs and environments as we strive for a World-Class education. Our curriculum provides multiple academic and vocational pathways, and the development of transdisciplinary skills, such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration and problem-solving. We challenge and equip our young people with the skills and dispositions, knowledge and confidence necessary to contribute as active, engaged citizens of their local and global context. We are committed to continuous improvement, and we continue to innovate and grow our practice and programs to meet the current and future needs of young people.
We have developed creative and flexible learning spaces and facilities that reflect contemporary thinking. Our Master Plan demonstrates our long term vision for education for the future. Our sports grounds and play spaces reflect our commitment to the highest standards and support social and physical development and the diverse needs and interests of our children and young people. Children develop skills and capabilities through play-based approaches, access to nature-play and outdoor performance spaces that encourage creativity, risk-taking and problem-solving.
Every member of the Reynella East College staff is committed to the students’ needs and constantly strives to ensure that the teaching-learning experience challenges and supports them in embracing a rapidly changing society. We encourage our students to stretch themselves so that they can realise their potential and contribute on a local and global level as active, engaged citizens.
At Reynella East College, we believe that our vibrant and successful international education program enriches learning and supports personal growth for all students. It brings diverse linguistic and cultural perspectives into students’ lives, strengthens values such as harmony and tolerance and increases understanding and respect. It allows students to form new friendships and relationships and opportunities to experience other countries. In today’s increasingly globalised society, our program helps students prepare for the dynamic nature of diversity in the contemporary world.
While this website provides an excellent introduction to what we offer, I believe that the best way to get a sense of a school is to view it in action. Therefore, I invite you to come on a school tour to see us in action.
