Community information relating to our school and/or students

Peter Pan – what a spectacular! Our community and families were super impressed by the polish and professionalism displayed by the 350+  cast and crew, over 2 sold-out performances at Hopgood Theatre. It was such a joy to watch students from Reception to Year 12 having a truly wonderful time on stage, with so much talent amongst them. A very special thank you to the many staff for supporting this production at every level, and creating this opportunity for our students to really shine.

Remembrance Day at REC

The perfect Remembrance Day Service was held this morning at our Primary assembly. Each of the units shared their learning around the topic in the lead up to today, including poetry and song. All 550+ students conducted themselves with utmost respect during the service, for which they are to be congratulated. Thank you also to the parents/grandparents/carers who attended.
The secondary students observed a minutes silence in their classrooms at 11.15 am, with a service led by ‘Nicole’ (our keynote speaker for our Emergency Management PA System).
Lest we forget.

Special Opportunities with Community Gardening

Students from our Senior Special Education Class have been fostering a wonderful relationship with Wakefield House (Positive Ageing Centre), in our local community.

Over several weeks, with the support of volunteers at the Centre, students have developed their own patch in the community garden. A community bus collects the students on a Friday morning and they make their way home using public transport when they’re finished. This experience is providing lots of opportunity to further develop important life and social skills and they’re all surprised and delighted at how much they’re enjoying it!
