Japanese Cultural Day

What a fantastic day was had by all at our Japanese Cultural Day today!
Students and families had a wonderful experience immersing themselves in a little Japanese culture, amongst the fun, food and games. Timing was perfect for the Japanese students from Ushiku JHS to join us in the fun. Congratulations to the Primary team lead by Alice Sensei for the huge effort involved in producing such an amazing event.

South Korean Study Tour Opportunity

As part of our International Student Program, Reynella East College hosted a group of 9 students from Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea in August of this year. While here, they joined Year 6/7 classes for three weeks and got to know Australian life, culture and schooling. These students were part of a group of over 100 students from the Chungcheongbuk-do district who were divided into schools all over Adelaide as part of an agreement between the Department for Education and Child Development (DECD) and the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education.

This agreement between the two departments also includes a ‘Winter Camp’ for 20 Australian students from January 3-19, 2018, and Reynella East College is offering 2 places. These students will be accompanied by 5 teachers from DECD schools. The program includes lessons (in English and some in basic Korean), cultural excursions and accommodation in a dormitory.

The cost of flights to South Korea is being supported by the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education, and Reynella East College will cover the remaining costs of the program (approximately $2,300 per student). This means that the main cost for families will be to cover passport application and any personal expenses while in South Korea.

To apply for this experience, students should complete a letter of interest which addresses the criteria explained in the application. Applications close Friday, October 27 (end of Week 2).
