Congratulations to Montana Edwards on her selection in the Under 17 Australian Softball team competing in the International Friendship Games to be held in Queensland next month.
Our REC Primary AFL Football Club ‘Reynella East Raiders’ welcomes registrations for the 2017 season. We welcome boys and girls in years 2/3, 4/5 & 6/7 to come and be a part of the fun of AFL Football. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never played footy before, it’s all about fun and having a go! Come out to our registration day after school on Wednesday 5th of April, 3.15pm on the Primary oval to have a kick and get a hold of a registration form and enjoy a free sausage sizzle. Forms are also available at Student Services, from primary teachers or from Mr Roche during P.E.
Congratulations to Year 5 student Riley Mechan for winning a Silver medal in the 200m at the recent SAPSASA competition.
Riley has now been selected to represent South Australia in the School Sport Australia 12 and Under Athletics Championships to be held in Sydney later this year.

Emma Adams (Year 12) has already enjoyed a lot of success in Air Rifle Shooting and is now excited to be announced as a finalist in the 2016 Secondary Sport SA Awards.
She will attend a breakfast function on the 14th October for the official awards announcement and then the final Gala Awards Night on the 17th November at Adelaide Oval.
We wish Emma the very best of luck in the Awards and for the exciting career ahead of her in elite sport. Watch out for her in the 2020 Olympics!

Over night in Rio Brayden Davidson (Class of 2015) won Gold for Australia in the Paralympics and broke the World Record in his Long Jump event with a massive jump of 5.62m! (WR is 5.93). We’re so proud of you Brayden. We hope you can hear REC cheering from Rio! See News article here
REC was a host for a Schools 5 a-side Soccer Tournament, 27 teams from local schools competed, REC Boys finished 3rd and REC girls finished 6th. Well done to all who competed.
Congratulations to the team – Mitch R, Peter K, Lleyton A, Jacob L and John T who conquered Brighton High and Temple College in the play-offs before being narrowly defeated 4-2 to Glenunga in the finals. Special mention to Mitch who played all his singles undefeated on the day.
Well done boys a fantastic effort and result.
