International Support Officer
My name is Carole Edgeworth and I am the International Support Officer. I help to facilitate the International Student Program by providing support to the International Coordinator, teachers, students, agents, parents and host families.
I assist students with any problems they may have with their subjects, host family, school and social life. Part of my role is to visit new host families and match them with our students. I have lived and worked overseas and as a migrant to Australia myself, I have a clear understanding of the needs of International students. My aim is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for you.
I look forward to supporting you during your time at Reynella East College!
My name is Andrew Smith and I coordinate International Student Programs at Reynella East College. I oversee the enrolment of international students and provide an orientation program to ensure students are fully prepared to become part of the school. A main focus of my role is liaising between teachers and new international students, ensuring that students are taking classes that are engaging and meet their needs.
As part of our ISEC program, I teach an intensive English class to international students to give them the confidence and language skills to be successful in their studies. I also support international students after entry into mainstream, monitoring their wellbeing and achievement.
I have travelled widely and have accompanied students on an exchange to Japan. I have visited schools in Japan, Thailand and France and have observed first-hand how teachers work with their students in these countries. Through my communications with colleagues in schools overseas I gain a clear insight into the backgrounds of international students and the strategies to help them be successful.
My aim is to assist you, the international student, at Reynella East College to gain the maximum benefit and enjoyment from your opportunity to study in Australia.
