The Middle Years includes years 6 to 9. Year 6 and 7 students are based in the primary school and work with their class teacher for core subjects.
Years 8 and 9 are divided into four learning communities, containing two or three Year 8 home groups and two or three Year 9 home groups in each. The classes are taught by core subject teachers who are based in that Learning Community, and the Learning Communities are each led by a Learning Community Manager, a Learning Community Tutor and a dedicated case management team. As a result, close relationships are developed within the Learning Community and a clear sense of identity is developed. Year 8 and 9 students are taught by their homegroup teacher, for homegroup and 2 subjects, where possible.
