Last Thursday saw 23 students in Years 4-6 head to Thalassa Park for our district Cross Country Day. Despite placing 7th out of 7 overall, the event was marked by spirited competition and impressive individual performances.
The day began with students eagerly gathering at the starting line, their excitement palpable as they prepared to tackle the challenging course. All of our competitors pushed themselves to their limits with each stride and tackled the challenging hills.
Two of our students – Aurora J and Dylan T – demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, earning them the opportunity to trial for the South Australian State Team, which will be held in a few weeks’ time at Oakbank racecourse. Their impressive performances were celebrated by peers and coaches alike, showcasing the talent and potential with training and commitment.
Despite the competitive nature of the event, the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie prevailed, with participants cheering each other on and displaying resilience in the face of challenges.
Well done to all our students involved. We wish our state competitors the best of luck.
